There is evidence of Neolithic and Bronze presence on and around the Lough and recently ancient crafts have found in sediment of the lough, lending further power to the myths and legends of this beautiful area of Connemara. Visit the ancient monastic site founded by Saint Patrick in the 5th century AD. Sail on the same water frequented by the fierce Viking warriors and hear tails of their Exploits. A bueatifully preserved Viking boat with axes and swords was found recently on the bottom of the Lough  and their ancient craft lies in the sediment of this ancient lough for well over a thousand years. You can hear magnificent tales  about the beautiful and fierce Pirate Queen, Grace O Malley, who’s Castle lies on an island to the North of the Lough. I hope you can join us on our journey back in time and experience first hand this magical of this unspoiled area of Connemara.

Enjoy Irish Music (with the kettle boiling for a cuppa found the fire) with An Anu
